The Value You Add

You won’t be successful until you believe in yourself.

You may think reaching out to people and inserting yourself into their busy lives makes you a burden — that you are taking more than you are giving.

But if you believe in yourself, you admit that you have value. In that admission, you give yourself grace to take up space in other people lives — to ask them for help, for favors, for advice.

For it is not only you that is on the receiving end. The belief carries that by being in their life, they gain just as much value as you do.

So when you feel sending that cold email is an act of greed, remember you’re not the only one benefiting.

Most importantly, this holds true even if your value is still being fostered. When you believe in yourself, you know the value will come. Eventually, your “burdensome” email will be a footnote, not only marking the initial value they gave to you, but the beginning of a relationship valuable to both.
